“When I was a kid I was always outside collecting material”, Maaike tells about her youth. She grew up in Holland and had a feeling for finding new destinations for used materials. Her mom was born in Curaçao and when Maaike was 25 she moved to live on the island. She had a job as a teacher and broker, but her artistic side slowly took the upperhand. “In my spare I started up Tur Kos Loko (all crazy stuff) with a good friend. We drove tot the landfill to collect old furniture and revived it.”
